Hey everyone! What are your favorite scores composed by Akira Ifukube?
My top three favorites are: 1. "Giant Monster Varan" (1958) 2. "Sakuma Dam Part Two: Transformation of the Great Tenryu" (1955) 3. "The Humpbacked Pony" (1975)
I will come up with a top ten list soon!

1. King Kong vs. Godzilla, most definitely. I prefer the stereo recording for standalone listening, but for the actual film I prefer the mono mix. The "King Kong vs. Godzilla I/II" battle theme is too catchy. 2. The Mysterians. This score needs no real introduction. It's just so punchy, rhythmic and violent. 3. Ghidrah, the Three-Headed Monster. The famous Godzilla and Var*cough*Rodan arrangement first appears in the splendid "The Two Monsters in Yokohama" piece, but because of all the repeated instances of it, I actually quite enjoy some of the music replacements in the WRS U.S. cut.

Terror Of Mechagodzilla is one of my favorites. That is a good score. It isn't Ifukube's best, but it is still a good one.

I agree, but I liked how the Main Title incorporated elements from the '54 film.

I say the original Godzilla theme & Ghidrah the Three Head Monster are my favorites. Some of the cues from Ghidorah are beautiful and breathtaking! My favorite cue from the score is Two Monsters Appear in Yokohama (M11).

Other favorites include Varan, The Three Treasures, Frankenstein Conquers The World and War Of The Gargantuas. Varan is awesome! In fact, my favorite piece composed by Ifukube is from the Varan score! If you want to hear some breathtaking music, I recommend Ifukube's music from "Buddha" (1961).

Whre can i find this scores? I love Varan! As for "Sakuma Dam Part Part 2" and "The Humpbacked Pony", They are featured in the last two CDs in a six CD series. They are a bit tricky to find, but are still available. I'll send you links to information of the CDs.
